Do I Need To Get Financial Advice Before Opening A SIPP?

Seeking financial advice is not a requirement to open up a Liberty SIPP. Liberty will however require you to take Independent Financial Advice if you wish to transfer in a Defined Benefit or Final Salary scheme - due to the nature of these schemes, Liberty must be absolutely certain that you understand what benefits will be lost by transferring out of these schemes to Liberty SIPP.

Liberty must also be certain that it is in your best interest to transfer the scheme to Liberty and the only way that we can be certain of this is that Independent Financial Advice has been given and that the recommendation is to transfer the Final Salary/Defined Benefit scheme

Prior to opening any SIPP, it is strongly recommended that you seek financial advice. Here at Liberty SIPP, we are not regulated to give financial advice. An Independent Financial Advisor will be able to assess your personal financial circumstances and discuss with you the most suitable pension based on these.

Please note the value of investments, and any income from them can go down as well as up and you may not get back your original investment. We do not offer advice about the suitability of our products or any investments held within them. Should you require financial advice you should consult a suitably qualified financial adviser
