How to apply online

 

At Liberty we work hard behind the scenes to create simple and time saving processes for our advisers.

Getting started

If you have not already registered with Liberty please visit the ‘How to become an agent with Liberty SIPP’ page so that we can obtain necessary details to provide you with a log in. If already registered, then click ‘Adviser Portal’ then ‘Liberty Portal’ where you will be able to log in to start a new application.

You will now be in the adviser portal – how exciting!

On the adviser portal homepage you will be given 3 options:

  • Find your client
  • Start a new application
  • Return to saved new application

Of course we need to select ‘start new application’ to begin the set up process. Once again you can save at any stage of the workflow and go back to your saved application by clicking the ‘return to saved new application’ button.

NB – If you are using the paper advised client application form to collect data from your client, please be aware that each section matches up to the sections in the online application – something small to make your lives easier.

You will now be taken through different sections where you will need to input client details and tell us what your client would like to do with their SIPP. The process should be very straightforward.

You will always have the option to save your application at any stage and also go back to previous sections.

A few important points…

  • Please insert the clients email address in the personal details section if you would like to go paperless and activate the application online. Unfortunately if you have clients that share an email address you will not be able to use the same email twice.
  • An anti-money laundering check will be done once the application has been activated. Please let us know of any previous addresses in the verification of identity section and insert a passport and driving license number if available.

Liberty SIPP allows your clients to activate their application in one of two ways: 1) email activation; or 2) paper activation.

  • Email activation - if your clients are happy to activate their account online, you can select this option at the end of the online application. Once selected, your client will receive an email containing an activation link that they will have to click through in order to activate their application.
  • Paper activation - if you would like to use this option, once you have submitted the application online, please send Liberty a signed paper application form or a signed online declaration form.
    • For both methods, you will be notified when the account has been activated, and once this has been done, the Liberty team will start setting up the account.
